My Hair Journey & How to start yours



So the question I get asked the most is “How do I get my hair to look like yours, I want those exact curls”
1 That’s not possible nor realistic, we all how a different curl pattern or texture
2 I’ve been on my natural hair journey for a while now, I’m at the point where this isn’t a journey it just a life style. 
So for me to tell you go buy all these products I use and your curls are going to look just like mine, that would be a total lie.

INSTEAD LET ME TELL YOU HOW TO WORK YOUR WAY TOWARDS HEALTHIER CURLS

Step 1 Deep condition at least once a week (I know, I know you have a crazy life, you’re so busy all the time, you barely have time to wash your hair once a week. Trust me I Know the excuses I had the same ones. But if you want nice curls this is the key, but there are different options)

 For those of you that have the time the Deva Curl Heaven in hair is a great deep conditioner, you can put it on 30 mins before hopping in the shower & you get nice hydrated curls.

For those of you with other priorities in life  ApHogee texture treatment, this one gives you all the same results but you don’t have to keep it on for long 1 minute does the job.
(yes 1 minute!! I said it and so does the bottle this product is no joke) 


Step 2 Take a hair vitamin it will health you grow out your natural hair, these are the two that I use, I’ve been using then for 2-3 years now and they make my hair grow so fast and my nails are so much longer and stronger than before.

The white bottle is the pill which you have to take 3 a day and the pink is the chewy gummy which you only have to eat 2 a day (I prefer the gummies they taste like candy)

(These can be found at your local drug store or target, Costco has the huge size of the Gummies)




Step 3 NO MORE HEAT !!! This includes blow dryer, flat-iron, curling iron, hot comb, ect.

My suggestion is if your addicted to blow drying your hair try to stop little by little
If you blow dry your hair every week go every other week with out applying heat
& slowly work your way to using no heat for 2 week
Then just applying heat once a month
TRUST me you will see the difference !!!


Step 4 And lastly go to your bathroom right now and throw away every single hair products that contain Sulfates, Silicon’s, and any kind of alcohol and that’s just to start.
I’m not going to list every chemical that is bad for kinky curly hair but stick to brands like…. 
  • TGIN (Thank God I’m Natural)
  • Deva Curl
  • Ouidad
  • Creme of Nature
  • Shea moisture
  •   Curls (Frizzfreecurls)
